AVOID IT OR IT WILL MAKE YOU AVOIDED: THE PUBLIC SPEAKING MISTAKES
Public Speaking is one of the best mass marketing tools that does not depend on an algorithm for organic reach. More important, it will increase sales and demand in your business.
Public speakers have made several similar mistakes along their journey in the speaking industry. There were many times that they questioned their commitment to continue speaking as they were in a consistent cycle of making the same mistakes because they were hesitant to change. Once they took a full audit of all the strategies that were not working, they immediately eliminated them from their stage presence.
You may be an excellent speaker, may have excellent content but, if you are shabbily dressed, no one would at the first place like to listen to you and if at all they do, they would forget you as well as your speech the moment you leave the place.
3. OVER-PREPARING:
When speakers over prepare it’s usually because they’re ‘scared of doing it wrong’ or trying to be 'perfect'. The surest way of making yourself feel wrong is to prepare a word-perfect speech; then anything you miss out or do differently feels like a mistake. Public speaking is not a science – the words that work for one audience might not be so powerful for the next. So take everything you know about your audience, take your structure and speak to them passionately and from the heart. That’s where inspirational public speaking comes from.
4. THEORITICAL PREPARATION:
Before making a speech, you should first research thoroughly on the information regarding your topic. Try to find information that can be easily relatable to your audience. You just need to be creative enough to fit your gathered information into a concise fashion and share them coherently with your audience. Also, the accuracy of your content is equally important as well. Out-of-date facts or figures would only damage your credibility. In addition, your speech content will be useless if you cannot site any examples to further explain your key points. It is often said that if one is unable to explain something simply, one does not know it well enough. Remember to pare down your content into chewable bits for your audience.
These tips have been gathered on a long research including the views of great public speakers, If you follow them up, you will definitely gonna master it soon.
